Peach trees from our nursery in Podkarpacie<\/strong> \u2014 budded on the farm, on rootstocks matched to your soil and to the purpose of the planting. We take our scions from our own scion orchard and our rootstocks from our own stool beds. We sell both retail and wholesale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Polish conditions the peach needs a warm, sheltered site and fairly hard pruning every year \u2014 it fruits only on one-year-old shoots. In return it comes into bearing faster than most species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We run our own scion orchard and rootstock stool beds<\/a> \u2014 this is where the scions and rootstocks for our trees come from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What we supply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We grow one-year-old trees with a feathered crown<\/strong> \u2014 maidens that have already put out side shoots in their first season. The crown is therefore started: there is no need to build it from scratch, and the tree comes into bearing earlier than an unfeathered whip. For commercial plantings this makes training to a chosen system easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We supply material bare-root \u2014 this is the standard in nursery production and the best way to get a tree to establish well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When to plant a peach tree<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We plant peaches in spring \u2014 in March or April, once hard frosts are over. Autumn planting is not advisable in our climate: young trees are regularly damaged by frost in their first winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Wholesale<\/strong> \u2014 for fruit growers, garden centres and nurseries. We prepare the material for an agreed date; quotations are individual, depending on quantity, varieties and rootstocks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Collection all year round<\/strong> \u2014 the farm is open and material can be collected at a convenient time. We only ask for a phone call in advance so that we can prepare the order.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    We serve mainly Podkarpacie and Ma\u0142opolska \u2014 the counties of Mielec, Tarnobrzeg, D\u0119bica, Kolbuszowa and Ropczyce-S\u0119dzisz\u00f3w, as well as the areas around Tarn\u00f3w, Rzesz\u00f3w and Sandomierz. For larger orders we arrange transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Frequently asked questions about peach tree seedlings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Do peaches need a pollinator?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      All three varieties in our range \u2014 Harbinger, Inka and Harna\u015b \u2014 are self-fertile. A single tree in the garden will set fruit without a pollinator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In which year will a peach start to fruit?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      The peach fruits early \u2014 the first crop is usually picked in the 2nd\u20133rd year after planting, with full cropping in the 4th\u20135th. In return the trees are shorter-lived than apples or pears, usually 12\u201315 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      What soil suits peaches best?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      The peach needs light, free-draining, warm soil that is not too rich, with a slightly acid to neutral reaction. The site is decisive: south-facing, sheltered from wind, free of cold-air pockets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      How many peaches per hectare?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      At 5 \u00d7 4 m spacing that is about 500 trees per hectare. The peach needs spacing that lets plenty of light into the crown, because it fruits on the previous year\u2019s growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Do you ship trees by courier?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Yes, shipping is possible. We dispatch bare-root material during the lifting season \u2014 in autumn and early spring; outside that season we do not lift trees. Personal collection at the farm is also possible. Cost and delivery date are agreed by phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
