Wholesale orders — fruit trees from our nursery in Podkarpacie
We sell fruit trees wholesale from our nursery in Dąbie in Podkarpacie — to fruit growers establishing and replanting orchards, to garden centres, to nurseries and for group plantings. Below is everything worth knowing before you send an enquiry.
The phone is quickest. With wholesale orders the varieties, rootstocks and dates have to be agreed anyway — one conversation settles it faster than an exchange of emails.
Who wholesale is for
- Fruit growers establishing new blocks or replanting existing ones.
- Garden centres and shops with seasonal tree sales.
- Other nurseries filling gaps in their range of species and varieties.
- Municipalities, cooperatives and agritourism farms for group plantings.
What to prepare for an enquiry
The more of these you can include in your first message, the sooner we can come back with a firm quotation. If you do not know something — never mind, we will advise you on the call.
- Species and variety — or just the species, if you would like us to choose the variety.
- Rootstock — it determines vigour and spacing. We describe the options available for each species.
- Material — we grow one-year-old trees with a feathered crown, supplied bare-root.
- Quantity in units — an approximate figure is fine if the planting is still being planned.
- Purpose of the planting — a commercial orchard, a garden centre or a group planting.
- Planned collection date — autumn or spring, and roughly when.
- Place of collection or delivery — needed to arrange transport.
How an order is put together
- Enquiry — by phone or email, with the details from the list above.
- Choosing varieties and rootstocks — if the planting is new, we go through the soil, the site and what the fruit is for. For a commercial orchard we help arrange the varieties so that harvesting is spread out and pollination is assured.
- Quotation — individual, depending on species, variety, rootstock, age of the material and order size.
- Confirmation and collection date — we agree a specific date so the material is ready in time.
- Collection or delivery — at the farm in Dąbie, or by transport agreed individually.
It is worth ordering in advance. The most sought-after varieties and rootstocks sell out first, and for commercial plantings what counts is the availability of the whole planned batch, not individual trees.
Range
Eight species, each on rootstocks matched to the soil and to the purpose of the planting. For each one we describe the varieties available, ripening times and pollination.
- Apple — rootstocks M9, M26, P14, M7
- Pear — quince S1, Caucasian pear seedling
- Plum — myrobalan rootstock
- Sweet cherry — Colt rootstock
- Sour cherry — wild cherry, mahaleb
- Apricot — apricot seedling, myrobalan
- Peach — Rakoniewicka peach seedling
- Nectarine — Rakoniewicka peach seedling
The trees grow on rootstocks from our own stool beds, and the scions come from our own scion orchard. With every order we match the rootstock to the soil and to the vigour you want.
Grafting to order. Alongside our standard budded production we also graft to order — after the variety, rootstock and date have been agreed. This is useful when a combination outside the current range is needed.
Collection, transport and timings
- Personal collection at the farm in Dąbie — the farm is open all year round, we only ask for a phone call in advance.
- Bare-root material — dispatched during the lifting season, in autumn and early spring. Outside that season we do not lift trees.
- Transport for larger orders is agreed individually — the cost depends on the distance and the size of the batch.
Where we deliver
The farm lies in Dąbie, in the Radomyśl Wielki municipality, Mielec county — on the border of Podkarpacie and Małopolska. We serve mainly the counties of Mielec, Tarnobrzeg, Dębica, Kolbuszowa and Ropczyce-Sędziszów, as well as the areas around Tarnów, Rzeszów, Sandomierz and Stalowa Wola. For wholesale orders we also deliver beyond that area — terms are agreed individually.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a wholesale order cost?
Quotations are individual. The price depends on the species, variety, rootstock, age of the material and the size of the order — which is why it is hard to give a single rate that would make sense for every planting. Please contact us with a list of species and approximate quantities and we will come back with a firm quotation.
Can I order a particular variety on a particular rootstock?
The availability of specific variety–rootstock combinations is agreed individually. The earlier we know what will be needed, the better the chance of making up the whole batch.
How many trees are needed per hectare?
It depends on the species and the rootstock. For apples on M9 at 3.5 × 1.2 m that is about 2,380 trees, on M26 at 4 × 2 m about 1,250. Plums on myrobalan at 5 × 4 m come to about 500 trees, sweet cherries on Colt at 5 × 3.5 m about 570. We match the exact spacing to the variety, the soil and your machinery.
When is the best time to place an order?
For the autumn season — in summer; for spring — in winter. Nursery material is produced over a cycle of several years, so the earlier we know the requirement, the more reliably we can guarantee particular varieties and rootstocks in the quantity needed.
Can I see the material before collection?
Yes, and we encourage it, especially for larger orders. Please call in advance so that we can show you the blocks with the material intended for release in a given season.
